Review: Brentwood’s Chaman Kabob delivers flavorful Afghan fare - Aug 12, 2016

I’m thankful Chaman Kabob is bringing Afghan flavors to the Bay Area. With Kabul’s flavorful fare about 7,500 miles away, a trip to Brentwood doesn’t seem so far at all.

Flavors of Afghanistan entice East County - Aug 9, 2012

From their bread to their kabobs – which marinate for more than 24 hours in the secret blend of seasonings – everything is made from scratch every day, and service is dedicated to treating diners as part of the extended family.

I was looking to try something different in the area and I found this gem. I've never had Afghan food before, but I was thoroughly impressed with the flavors of my Lamb Kabob. The rice was well cooked, and had a good amount of flavor. The Afghan bread or the Naan bread is a must have, as it was exceptional as well. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be dining here again.

This one is long over due... like 4 years late! This is an amazing Afghan food restaurant. I love the kaboli Pulav (tender, slow cooked lamb shank) that's full of flavor served on a bed of delicious linen grain rice. But the most amazing surprise came today in the form of lamb Tikka that my husband ordered. Moist and tender, these were the most flavorful and perfectly cooked lamb pieces I ever had! Strongly recommend this place.

I can here because my go-to Mediterranean restaurant in Antioch was closed. I ordered a gyro and fries to go and I will never go back to the other place for gyros ever again! This gyro was delicious as was the sauce they put on it. I got lamb and it was freshly cooked (it took a while, other orders placed after mine came out before mine), very tender and juicy which is not always easy for lamb. The steak fries were those big ones, also fresh. I can't comment much on the service since I took my order to go but the place was fairly empty on a Sunday with the exception of 5-6 people waiting for orders to go or deliver. Will definitely revisit, a great find for the Far East Bay.

Ate here about a month ago and meant to write a review then. I ordered the Chicken Wrap! It was delicious and tasty. Next time I will try the lamb wrap. My friend ordered a combo rice plate chicken and red meat of some sort. Their rice and meat was also delicious. Definitely coming back again!

The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. The chicken kabob and strawberry banana smoothie is the best! I have been a loyal customer for over a year. Today, the owner gave me a free meal. I wanted to show my appreciation for this great local business.

Exceptional customer service and authentic afghan food.  I loved the beef and chicken kabobs.  Not over-cooked and really juicy.  I highly recommend this place as there aren't too many great afghan/middle eastern restaurants in the area.  Yum!
